HACAN – the Heathrow Association for the Control of Aircraft Noise – has today released 12 videos it shot where people tell how aircraft noise disturbs them, some over 20 miles from Heathrow. You can click on a map and hear the people tell their stories.
They are deliberately released now in advance of the consultation Heathrow will be conducting in the autumn into the design principles which should inform the fundamental changes it will be making to its flight paths whether it remains a two-runway airport or whether a third runway is built. The aim is to get across the geographical extent of the problem.
HACAN is a campaigning organisation. They were formed in the 1970s to give a voice to residents under the Heathrow flight paths. They are a regional body covering London and part of the Home Counties.
