A public consultation on air pollution around Ile-de-France airports will be launched next March, at the initiative of local elected officials. The MP for Val-d’Oise, Naïma Moutchou, also calls for the establishment of a curfew.
As at Schiphol, the debate on air pollution around airports, particularly at night, is only just beginning. In Roissy, local elected officials from the Ile-de-France region will launch a public consultation from March 11 to 24 with residents of Oise and Ile-de-France to request a restriction on airport activity. Firstly in Roissy, but also in Orly, Le Bourget and Beauvais. The MP for Val-d’Oise, Naïma Moutchou, goes even further by tabling a bill which establishes a curfew between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. or even an annual cap on the number of flights. Among the arguments put forward to try to pass this text to the National Assembly, the significant noise pollution to which local residents are exposed and the ecological impact of aviation activity.
