In April 2021 McKinsey saw leisure aviation recovering faster than business or freight, higher fares for a period and some restructuring of routes & the type of aircraft used.
Now we can say that McKinsey was right. Flights to the sun are full and there are even more flights to destinations around the Mediterranean than in October 2019.
‘The number of flights that depart daily to popular sunny destinations such as Ibiza, Corfu, Bonaire or Gran Canaria is now higher than before corona. This means that flying to the sun is hardly affected by the pandemic. However, there are still fewer flights in total, especially to business destinations’, reports the Dutch news site RTL Nieuws.
