Demo against expansion of Roissy Airport

On 10th October citizens demonstrated against plans to expand Paris’s Roissy Airport. The project anticipates a 19% increase in traffic by 2050, equating to 344 additional flights per day. The citizens argued that the consultation, which should have been to about hearing people’s views, was primarily been used to promote the project.

Heathrow submits plans for a 3rd runway

At the UK Government’s request Heathrow Airport has today (1st August) submitted plans for a 3rd runway that would result in 750 more planes a day using the airport and which would cost over £20bn with another £12bn to upgrade Terminal 5.
